I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist, specializing in teaching individuals with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences how to read, write, and spell. Over the past 12 years, I've dedicated my efforts to researching the science of how the brain learns to read and how to effectively teach reading. During this time, I've worked with learners of various ages who face a range of conditions that affect their reading abilities, such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, epilepsy, and other language-based learning challenges.
As the parent of a young adult with multiple neurological and learning challenges, I've explored numerous options to help children learn. After years of trying various approaches and witnessing my child's persistent efforts, I delved into research to uncover scientifically supported methods for teaching individuals with disabilities to read. My ongoing research consistently leads me to the science of reading, structured multisensory structured literacy therapy,
My primary motivation is to empower students with learning challenges to meet their full potential as they learn to decode and read. It is truly rewarding to witness the results of hard work and the joy of independent reading; it’s an incomparable experience.
